First Home Restaurant

Recently I had the pleasure of attending my first home restaurant with Sidra, John and Martin-Lane. It was very warm and intimate with 10 people in attendance. The company as well as the food served made the night enjoyable.

The Effects of the Restaurant Industry

This past week for my picture editing class my shoot focused on the effects the restaurant industry has on the local environment. I wandered around a lot of allies hoping to find a lots of bugs and rats but had no luck. On my last day of shooting I came across this scene of birds eating who knows what.

Day / Martin Wedding

This weekend I had the pleasure of getting to help photograph Marisa Day and Jon Martin's wedding. Their wedding and reception was held at Marisa's family farm in Sperryville, VA. The farm has been in her family for several generations. It was a beautiful place to celebrate such a wonderful day.

Scott Montgomery Elementary School

I had the opportunity to photograph Sidra, John and Martin-Lane as they worked on one of their community projects. They have started a pumpkin patch at Scott Montgomery Elementary School and if everything goes well the students should have pumpkins come Halloween. When I asked John what he is hoping to teach the students, he said, "On one level just how simple food comes. On another level if you watch this thing come to life then you have more respect for life and the life of food and you won't take more. It's simple, you put seeds in the ground, you water it and it comes. It's nothing magic. On the other hand though its like wow, that's how it takes to grow a pumpkin. It's a lot of work. So you have a lot more respect for it."
